Intervention! Anti Social Media Campaign

A series of posters which promote the idea of detaching ourselves from social media which has taken oven our lives and consequently damaged society. This campaign is a response to research conducted, exploring the toxic nature of social media apps and the negative impact it has had upon society, including the dangerously seductive interface design of these apps which keeps users hooked.

These posters utilise familiar visual elements of media platforms while contrasting with a message which intends to bring the viewer to their senses. This one (above) mimics the colours of Twitter with a bold message describing the result of these toxic behaviours.

Using the same branding elements as Tik-Tok to promote the antithesis of that platform’s purpose.
YouFake instead of YouTube, suggesting that people are not living reality, instead watching videos of other people’s lives.

This message is broad, but specifically relates to Snapchat, as users ‘snap’ everything and look at life through the lens of a camera with filters. The textures also mimic the branding of the app.

Responding to the severe prevalence of Instagram in society. Many are addicted due to FOMO and facades that are posted. This poster asks the viewer, are you addicted? but also tells them that they are indeed addicted.
